Protect Yourself with Wheelchair Restraints

For those in a wheelchair, wheelchair restraint is a necessary accessory. It is an accessory that looks like a belt or even an airplane seatbelt which secures your wheelchair to another object. If you use the bus or train, this can ensure you don’t shift and move around. But, there may be other instances when need to secure yourself.

If you are on your own in your bed or couch and have to get into your chair alone, for example. It would be much easier if your wheelchair that was not moving around. Even when you do everyday things, like washing your face over the tap, you can make it easier on yourself by strapping your chair down with wheelchair restraints. Many places are wheelchair friendly, from airports, to restaurants, museums and even theme parks.

For many disabled being in a wheelchair is not really a problem nowadays. On public transportation, train cars and buses are equipped with small lifts and wheelchair restraints to keep wheelchair steady. You should always be prepared, however, with your own straps. Sometimes, these public straps  are not enough. They may be broken or not in good condition, which could be risky. By taking your own straps, you know that these are in good working order.

  1. I think it is very cool that it is easier to be in a wheelchair and get around in cities. A few years ago it was almost nearly impossible to go anywhere in a wheelchair. Can't wait to see how getting around in a wheelchair gets easier in the future. http://www.kevrek.com.au/products/unwin-products/wheel-chair-restraints.html
